What if I am out of town one week?
Of course you can have a friend pick up your box. You can also choose to have your box donated to a local food pantry.
What if there is a crop failure?
If, for example, a specific vegetable is not growing well, we will do our best to find suitable produce for the boxes. This is something that we will have to figure out as the problem arises.
What if there is too much food in a box for me to
use in a week?
Freezing fruits and vegetables is an easy and convenient way to prevent waste and to enjoy your produce long after it’s peak. The newsletter will have tips for freezing that week’s products. If you find that a box is consistently too much for you, find someone to split it with! At the moment we do not offer half boxes.
Is DCFM certified organic?
While we are not certified organic, we are in the process of becoming so. The process is time consuming and fairly expensive. We, and the vegetable growers, use a method called IPM (Integrated Pest Management). IPM focuses on the least toxic and least invasive method of treating and preventing crop damage.
